—Montel in Rice Purity Test
|
Montel LaBeverley is the child of Maury Beverly and Connie LaCienega. They were first born in "Rice Purity Test".
Biography
Montel was first born in "Rice Purity Test", when Maury went into labor right in the middle of his baby shower he gave birth to them and shot them out of his cloaca. Connie caught them and got her arm immediately humped by the newborn baby. Maury lifted them and up dubbed them "Montel". Montel started pissing all over the ground and talking too, telling Maury that they’re sorry for wrecking his asshole and saying "Ain't I a stinker?".
Appearance
Montel's looks are a mix of their parents, with a hooked nose, round hair (From Maury), yellow skin, red fur, round ears and blue eyes (Connie). Over the course of the season, they start out as an infant, at the finale they became a preteen and wear braces.
Personality
While in Maury's womb, Montel seemed to have inherited their father's excessive masturbation, this was downplayed after they were birthed. From the beginning in their infancy, they displayed a sassy yet flamboyant behavior up until the last episode. Just like their parents, they're also very knowledgeable on hormone monster biology. Montel has also inherited their mother; Connie's, musical abilities, to a point where they have an even more beautiful singing voice.
In Season 2, it is revealed Montel desires to be a shame wizard and takes massive inspiration from Lionel, to the shame and consternation of both Maury and Connie. It is shown in the hegemonic, clique styled nature of the Human Resources Department, shame wizards are ranked quite low due to bringing humans and others down from their happy highs. Even knowing this made Montel wished to be a shame wizard, stating Lionel is cool, in his own way.
Unlike their parents, Montel is not preoccupied with sex and it is theorized they are demisexual/grace ace. Their ideas on sex and sexuality differs greatly from their parents. Montel shows a lot of ethical and moral center, despite being into tormenting humans with shame. It could be stated they use shame as a form of logical or practical emotion to curb excessive urges rather than something that is meant to only make humans and others feel 'bad'. This is revealed when they go to their parents' university and tries to shame their crush, Clarence, on how excessive and wasteful the university experience is compared to Notre Shame, where the academic experience is based on knowledge and work ethic. Additionally, their first sexual experience is in Fuck University, as a hook up, especially when sex is ubiquitous in the environment. Hence, they do not seek sex as typical/traditional Hormone Monsters do and shows a unique form of self-restraint not always seen in his species.
Additionally, Hormone Monsters use sex as a way to communicate and form bonds. This kind of attraction is seen as confusing to Montel. When they first have sex with Clarence, their crush and a male hormone monster they find the experience silly, bizarre and ridiculous even it is was wild. To the Dean of Fuck University, who asked if the sex was "hot", they replied it was "silly", which seems to be a very terrible thing to utter as a Hormone Monster. Similarly, when seeing their parents and Lionel hook up, they find it perverse. Alongside the fact they are genuinely embarrassed to see their parents with their mentor, they do not understand their mutual attraction. It is something that they do not share with other Hormone Monsters.
Their natural perception and ambition is usually paired with an ethical and moral compass, showing they are determined and more rigid than their parents when interacting with others. For example, they find their parents' bullying of Lionel to be exactly that, bullying, unlike how Maury and Connie frame it as keeping the status quo. They also seem to enjoy Gothic Architecture and Memento Mori that Lionel collects in Lionel's mansion/church. Lionel states that Montel is a prodigy in shame and their high perception to pinpoint the shortcomings, flaws and limitations of others is astounding. They even impressed Lionel's mother in their visit to Notre Shame.
Even though Maury and Connie said Montel will be a pariah in their community due to being a Hormone Monster who has shifted paths to being a shame wizard, it did not deter them. This shows Montel is incredibly brave, steadfast and ambitious and will work hard to achieve their goals, regardless it is the norm or not. Their natural sass equipped with this ambitious and moral backbone, make them a strong and committed character in the series.

Trivia
- Despite being non-binary, people use the male pronouns "he/him" for Montel who does not seem to mind this.
- Montel also has male genitalia, as seen in "Rice Purity Test" and "The Jizz Mitzvah", meaning that biologically, he is a male.
- Montel is Quadrisian (a non-binary person who loves men), as in "The Parents Aren't Alright", Montel asked if the burglar was handsome and if they were going to kiss him. However, it is unknown if Montel is attracted to Women. Montel was also shown to have their first sexual experience with a male hormone monster, Clarence, at Fuck University.
- Because of the fact that they haven't had a client yet, possibly due to their age, they haven't grown their horn yet.
- In Season 2, it is revealed Montel wants to be a shame wizard. They are even rejected out of their parents' university, Fuck University, because the Dean thought they were sex-shaming their partner. To this allegation, they replied later to Lionel: "I am too smart to waste my life on bad sex."
- To Montel, the sounds of sex are "absurd", sex is "silly" and the parts are "ridiculous". Even though they enjoyed "wild" sex they still felt it was not up to par with what they wanted to experience. This revelation made Miss Peen, the Dean of Fuck U, chastise Montel on their sex-shaming observations. However, it was an insight to the discrete ways in which Montel perceives and understands sex.
- Lionel states that Montel has an innate gift in being a shame wizard. They are able to theorize and perceive what shames or distresses someone. Hence, they are considered a prodigy.
- Despite Montel looking up to Lionel as a mentor, they do consider Lionel to be strangely attracted towards sex and other taboo subjects. The series showed that Montel seems to value restraint, sobriety and logical reasoning more than his own mentor.
- Montel had sex with a Freshman male hormone monster, Clarence, in their visit to their parents' university, Fuck U, where they revealed they were a virgin, indicating it was their first sexual experience. Afterwards, they made fun of Clarence's penis, said it was "bizarre" and a "dogleg left." They also made fun of the fact Clarence dabbed and said: "We out here cummin" when the pair was climaxing.
- Montel beat their mother, Connie's, record in Monster soft ball, which made Connie sabotage him. Then when they try to shame their mother for sabotaging them, she reverses the shame stating she could no longer love them if they excelled in soft ball. Such reverse psychology impressed Montel, who lost interest in the game. Connie reveals Montel inherited their sharp perception from her, which enabled them to be a shame wizard.
- Despite the shock and consternation of his parents, Montel treats Lionel, the shame wizard, as his idol.
- Their main ambition in life is to become a successful shame wizard and they enter Notre Shame in Season 2.
- Montel states they enjoy torturing and tormenting humans with "shame." Their revelation in their Jizz Mitzvah made their parents think that their over-hormonal rages had depleted Montel's own lustful urges.
- Despite being a person who enjoys sadistically tormenting others, Montel is shown to be quite perceptive about ethics and morality. When they see their parents bullying Lionel, they immediately call out their parents as "assholes." They despise the fact the monsters around them treat others unfairly and unkindly based on arbitrary markers on who is "cool" and who is not.
- It can be stated that Montel treats shame as a tool for self-restraint. They treat shame as a logical and practical quality that stops people to give into harmful excessive wants and desires and recalibrate what they actually need. Hence, their comments on being "too smart" to just accept "bad sex."
- Like Lionel, they admire and idolize Lionel's mother and tries to woo her to get into Notre Shame.
- Montel gets along with Connie the most. In the Christmas themed Die Hard episode, when Montel is forced to shoot someone, they laugh with Connie saying it would never be her. It was taken as a given that their preferred parent seems to be Connie.
- Despite not seemingly respecting Maury, by not wanting to shoot him, they may have subtly revealed they love Maury more than they let on.
- As Montel is non-binary, they have a mixed feminine and masculine wardrobe. In the "Pity Party" episode, they even donned a halter top and layered skirt.
