Lewis Glouberman was Andrew's paternal grandfather and Marty's father. He lived in Fontana Del Vecchio Estates, which is a retirement home in Florida. He appeared in "Florida" and died in "Four Stories About Hand Stuff" when his heart stopped. Andrew Glouberman pinned the death on himself because Lewis died after he deviated from his method.

Biography[]

In "Florida", Lewis Glouberman greeted The Glouberman Family and Nick when they came on down to Fontana Del Vecchio Estates in Florida for spring break to celebrate Passover with him by telling them that they all made shit time. Lewis said that if they were in Korea, they'd be punished for their lateness and Barbara reminded him that he was never in Korea but Lewis argued via Yogiism, that while this is true, he read about it on the history channel. Because of Nick being an extra kith, coming with his kin, Lewis didn't have any room for him to sleep and just had him sleep on the floor. Lewis let Nick know that he did his aerobic squats in the nude on that floor, so he can expect to find a bunch of white pubes there. Despite there being an extra bed that Nick could easily sleep in, Lewis didn't allow him to sleep there, since that's where he stored all his old newspapers that he'll never read. That night, Barbara had a hot flash and needed the air conditioner to be turned up but Lewis wouldn't allow it, as he was sleeping with the AC remote and mumbled in his sleep that he was not a millionaire and was therefore too cheap to turn up the AC. When Skip argued with Marty, Lewis broke up their fight by telling them that they were both equally disappointing. At the Seder, Lewis announced that as was tradition, he has hidden a piece of matzoh and whoever finds it, will get ownership of his condo, after he dies. Marty and Skip ran around the room, destroying the place, looking for the matzoh, while Lewis watched in amusement, as his two sons fought to the death, just as he planned. Skip later walked in on Andrew and Cheryl making out in his room and his first concern was that they were ruining his good newspapers. Marty and Skip got into yet another battle then and there and Lewis fueled their fire, saying that whoever wins the fight will win his newspapers. However, Barbara eventually broke up their fight and said that they were getting the hell out of Florida. Lewis asked Marty if he was really going to let his wife talk to him like that and Marty told Lewis that Barbara can do whatever she wants and then left him. Lewis, Skip, Cheryl, and Vicky all died when the entire state of Florida sank to the bottom of the ocean. However, this was all just a metaphor for the horrid state they live in and Lewis would still live to see another day.

In "Four Stories About Hand Stuff", Lewis Glouberman died for real just after Andrew masturbated without doing his iconic method first and his death was announced to Marty over the phone.

In "The Funeral", Lewis' funeral was held at Temple Beth Amphetamine and Andrew couldn't shake the feeling that he was responsible for his death. Andrew went into the room where he saw Lewis' corpse and apologized to it. Lewis' ghost came out of his corpse and told him that it wasn't his fault and encouraged him to masturbate. Andrew started jerking off right there and his parents eventually came in and saw him jerking off to his grandpa's corpse and thought he was a freak. Andrew was so embarrassed and Lewis' ghost came out of his corpse again to mock Andrew.

In "Thanksgiving", Lewis appeared in a flashback, making the classic Glouberman family Thanksgiving turkey, by insulting it while basting it, as was their family's traditional way of making the Turkey. This is what generations of Glouberman men did to their turkeys and Marty was continuing that tradition this Thanksgiving. It was later mentioned that Marty was secretly feeling pretty weird, to say the least, about this being his first Thanksgiving without Lewis. He wasn't really sure how to explain this other than the fact that this Thanksgiving, things were "different" and Andrew was there to comfort him.
