Darlington Pierce School is an all-girls[1] private school that Shannon sent Jessi to during their time living together in Brooklyn in order to ensure a successful future for Jessi in "Cafeteria Girls".
Since the first day, Jessi immediately grew intimidated by the other girls, who used expensive purses instead of backpacks and all the charity and scientific work they had done during the summer, as well as the advanced school work Jessi had to do which she was not prepared for due to the school's education being too advanced compared to the one Jessi had back in Bridgeton, this and the girls' mockery of her overwhelmed Jessi to the point of making her cry in class, fall into anxiety and depression and skipped school for a week, leading her to meet Michelangelo, a high school-aged boy, whom she dated briefly.
Jessi is pulled out of the school after Shannon realized that she was putting too much pressure on her daughter, therefore Jessi moved in with her father and was able to return to Bridgeton Middle School.
