A Very Special 9/11 Episode is the fifth episode of the fourth season of Big Mouth. It is the thirty-sixth episode overall.

Synopsis[]

On a trip to the 9/11 museum, Nick and Andrew sneak off to meet Jessi, Devon teaches Missy about code-switching, and Coach Steve gets a rude surprise.

Plot[]

The episode begins with the whole class on a Bus heading to the World Trade Center as a field trip. Coach Steve is one of the supervisors of the trip who, despite having been alive on September 11, 2001, didn't know what it was about. Steve believes the trip is to celebrate his birthday and to take advantage of this, Matthew decides to convince Steve that the whole group is going to celebrate his birthday. Meanwhile, Nick and Andrew are looking at Jessi's instagram to find out about her boyfriend, Michelangelo. They both decided to ditch the field trip by sneaking out (despite Coach Steve did a very terrible job keeping track of the class, most students appeared to have successfully sneaked out of museum).

Nick and Andrew meet up with Jessi who introduces them to Michelangelo. Nick becomes jealous when Jessi and Michelangelo begin making out, wishing that he were Jessi's girlfriend instead of him. Connie finds herself in a conflict of interest. While she likes Michelangelo, she understands Nick still loves Jessi and wants to be her boyfriend. Nick attempts to pressure Connie into telling Jessi to go out with Nick but she refuses. As a result, Nick insults her hair in which Connie pukes as a response to sadness.
